Well child visits- Ages 0 through College

We offer a broad range of pediatric services, from prenatal visits to clinical care for patients up to 21 years of age. Kids First Pediatrics adheres to the suggested schedule guidelines for well child care as outlined by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).  Our recommended schedule is as follows: newborn, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 2 year, 2 ½ year (check with your insurance to see if this visit is covered), 3 year, 4 year and 5 year and every year thereafter. Your child will have a hearing screening at the four and five your old well child visit and a vision screening at the three year old well child visit and every year thereafter.

Abbreviated/Sports Physicals:  The abbreviated/sports physical is a shorter version of the physical without the discussion of developmental milestones/ issues. It is used when a physical needs to be completed in North Carolina after moving from out of State to begin school (and a physical was already done in the past year) and to fill the requirement to begin a school sport. This type of appointment is not filed through insurance.

Sick Visits: Please call before 3:00 PM and we will do our best to get your child in on the same day whenever possible.

Behavioral Consultations: Consultations are offered to help families with the management of ADHD, school difficulties and behavioral challenges. For patients on ADHD medication a medication follow up appointment is required at least every six months.

Prescription Refills: Medication refills may be disbursed to a patient/parent/guardian if requested with at least 2 business days. For controlled substances, prescriptions can either be mailed to the patient’s home, or picked up at the office during regular business hours. Should an individual other than the patient’s parent pick up such a prescription, this information MUST be shared with the office staff PRIOR to their arrival. Valid identification must be produced prior to leaving the office with the prescription. New patients not yet seen or evaluated by Kids First Pediatrics who request a medication refill may need to make an appointment prior to a prescription being given.

Flu Shot/Mist
Kids First Pediatrics highly recommends that all children be immunized against the flu*. In fact, the CDC recommends that ALL children 6 months of age and older and all adults be immunized. For more detailed information, please refer to: www.flu/www.cdc.gov/flu/.

Please see " To Schedule a Flushot"
*Please speak to a Kids First Pediatrics nurse about your child if they have a documented egg allergy.
